The Artist I recently checked out the latest CD from Italian pianist/singer/songwriter Giorgio (Giorgio Onorato Aquilanie) entitled Party of the Century. Visiting his website & looking t the finite details of the CD there is an amazing line-up of musicians & production folk who had their hand on this release. Line-up includes the legendary Ron Carter who played with Miles Davis, members of  (TOTO) Bobby Kimball, David Paitch, Simon Phillips, & drummers  Jonathan Mover, & Steve Gadd, Peter Erskine just to name a few.

The band As to be expected Giorgio brings the elite of the elite to the line-up.  I would say the band clearly advanced rop-rock, R&B & Jazz playing skills. Timing is spot on within the pop rock  grooves. Giorgio can hold his own on the piano, but more importantly he is an effective amazing storyteller & singer. Those 2 musical weapons can be a force to be reckoned with. Vocals from Giorgio work well within the confines of this music. The music possesses a very early 80's pop-rock, easy listening type personality with a few hard rock R&B Grooves thrown in the mix.  All in all great music to sit back & enjoy. Definitely classic Easy Listening Popish ballads that are theatrical & cinematic in skope. Music will  remind you of classic Christopher Cross, Air Supply, Al Stewart, Elton John & Even Barry Manilow. The songs Simply put - are emotionally gripping, striking & entertaining. Giorgio's music will lift your spirits but he's not afraid to share some intimate truths about his life experience. There’s nothing like a solid musical production to get wrapped around – & this is one of them. I kept waiting for a lame song to come down the pike - I eventually gave up on that. The vibe Overall very positive & upbeat possessing incredible highs & a few powerful moments. Lots of wisdom. Simply put  - very much like life itself this CD personifies life experience, with music that are 100% honest & pure. The production Extremely polished sounding production with crystal clarity, solid bottom end feel. The good Honorable mentions go out to the gifted songwriting & storytelling abilities of Giorgio *& his impressive classical piano playing  virtuoso that is pleasing o the ears. You don't find many artists out there like Giorgio these days who successfully merge amazing classical playing with popish music. Folks out there who enjoy this type of music will fall head over heals with this CD. The bad Not the most marketable sounding production I've ever come across. Music has all the trademarks of pop music popular about 20 years ago. The ugly Giorgio & company waited 20 years to late to throw this party

The verdict Party of the Century by Giorgio is the perfect CD to spin on days when you just a popish production to brighten up your day. Giorgio deserves allot of credit for bring this all together. He is an impressive player & composer with fancy playing, amazing songs, & heart felt music. The Bottom Line Giorgio is a rare find these days- & should be treated as such. If Giorgio released fresh music that was a more modern twist to it I would be very interested in hearing it.
