Aaron Bucks “Where I’m Home” (SINGLE)

Aaron Bucks is an interesting and vastly talented artist combining Country songwriting with an island music twist, and the depth of it even reaches into soul music in the process. “Where I’m Home” is one of two singles headed for his debut (2026) album release, entitled The Life Sessons. And all his music follows the same contagious unplugged groove between the styles it swings. But that isn’t all to Bucks’ story, as he’s also extremely dedicated to his two children, which involves advocating for the Down Syndrome Association of Middle Tennessee (DSAMT), in memory of his youngest son, Tobias.

With awards including the International Songwriter’s, as well as Billboard charts and radio satellite success, Bucks’ work has garnered serious attention, and for good reason, as he forges his own musical genres to break barriers of the norm in both songwriting and performing as a touring artist. Originally born in Canada, Bucks lives in Nashville, TN, where the music is constantly thriving and Country leads the scene, but on the same token, Nashville is also a rock and other music territory, so mixing styles is nothing new, it just matters how you do it and Bucks has his own niche.

“Where I’m Home” comes with another single, as the first two pieces of the puzzle in releasing The Life Sessons, later on next year, and they’re both the same speed and quality level, and what Bucks is known for across his catalog of songs. This is an unplugged style artist with a bunch of other great songs under his belt, and this song is produced by Chris August (Keith Urban’s “God Whispered Your Name” and “Starry Night” Contemporary Christian artist), etc., which helps capture the overall mixture of Aaron Bucks’ styles and puts the air of ambience around the acoustic instrumentation.

The sound Bucks and August make together is the sound Bucks hears in his head, so August is key to getting it out of him, and “Where I’m Home” is as good of an example as any other to compare with out of the Bucks library which proves different in sound without the August touch. It’s just the two hitting all the right notes together to make that magic happen, so it’s worth noting, as well as August’s background speaking for itself to an outcome that is perfect for Bucks in every way on what is shaping up to be a great new album.

“Where I’m Home” is a soulful Country song with a slinky groove that makes you forget about the static norms of today’s Pop and Outlaw Country styles, as it harnesses more of a slow dance pace with a narrative, storytelling lyric that works seamlessly with the light and bouncy arrangement. If you think Caribbean, almost reggae style, you’re not far from “Where I’m Home” fits, as it’s right in that pocket of easy to listen to Country, because of the added island twist that makes Aaron Bucks a special artist any self-respecting music lover can appreciate.
