ADAM WISSMAN

We know you have some new music on the way. The single is titled “Rage Quit.” What can you share with us about it?

“RageQuit” came to life during an online gaming session where nothing was going right for me. All gamers know that feeling all too well where you feel like flinging your controller across the room.  The trap/modern hip hop sound that I am really into right now that is influenced by artists like Trippy Redd and Post Malone fused with a 8 string metal guitar creates a heavy attitude to represent the anger I was feeling and the humor of the situation of taking gaming WAY too seriously.

What made you choose “Rage Quit” as the next release?

My first release was really serious and heavy emotionally and I felt like I needed to show the lighter side of my personality.  My music represents all the aspects of my life, from grief to humor, to empathy and romance.  I try to tell a story through my writing and give people a place to explore their own emotions.

Has there been a moment where you doubted your ability to make music that sticks out in your mind? How did you overcome it?

There was a time in my life recently where I suffered some huge life changes including ending a long term relationship and losing my dad suddenly and unexpectedly.  Like most people who go through tragedy, I coped by becoming emotionally numb.  All of my creativity musically stems from emotion so I did have a dry spell in my writing for a while.  Leaning on friends, family and colleagues helped me find my desire to write again.  They all helped me realize that I could use my music to heal and that is exactly what I did.

Who or what inspires you in your day-to-day life?

The people that I love.  I am lucky enough to be surrounded by amazing family,  great friends,  a loving girlfriend, and a loyal dog, my goldendoodle Ozzy, who all inspire me everyday.  Their unconditional support in my journey to make a career out of music and their complete understanding of my love of guitar playing is all I need to keep grinding and never give up on my dream.

What are your plans for the future as far as music goes and do you have any plans for live shows?

My next single, “Empire” with be released on March 4th, 2022 and my EP called “Ozztopia” will be released on March 18th, 2022 on all digital music platforms.  I plan to keep on writing and creating every day.  As far as live shows, I plan to bring my show live this summer to as many venues as I can, but have definite dates right now.
