Hello Mainfelt! Thank you for chatting with me today! Tell us about your latest release!
We released our latest album “Royal Rover” last year in September, but it didn’t really get attention due to the covid pandemic. We postponed the release day several times, cuz obviously we were planning to connect a promo tour with the release. Now we are writing on new songs and hopefully this time we can tour and promote it as it’s meant to be 🙂
What was the creative process for it?
Patrick, the songwriter and lead singer of Mainfelt, had some tough times. Three years ago, the band came to a point where some decisions had to be made. Unfortunately the other band members weren’t ready to take another step forward, so it came to a separation. They weren’t only band members, but also good friends for many years. So it was a hurtful cut in the band’s history.
Who are some of your biggest musical influences?
There are many different influences. Patrick grew up with Pink Floyd and Nirvana (his Dad was listening to all the time) but also Niel Young, the Avett Brothers, Mumford and Sons, Radiohead and many more.
Who would be a dream collaboration for you?
Well, obviously the bands and musicians named in the answer of the previous question. 🙂
Do you have a mantra or piece of advice you carry with you that you like to pass on to other musicians?
I know it’s corny: But never give up. Some say, the music business is hard, but we believe every business is hard. Work your ass off, always try to get better and never stop believing.
Any upcoming projects we should be on the lookout for?
New Songs are on the way
Please let everyone know where they can keep up with you and your music!
Thank you for your time!
